Every year since 1989, Al-Anon Adult
Children in Illinois have hosted a weekend Workshop and Festival to aid in
our recovery. It is intended to be a recovery weekend for all Adult
Children and the people who love them. This includes all Al-Anon members and anyone else in
recovery from the effects of growing up or living in an alcoholic home. Many members
of other 12-Step groups such as AA, ACOA, OA, and CODA also find this
event helpful to their own programs. Each year, recovering friends come
from all over the country to experience the weekend. We invite you to
visit the rest of our website, and to join us for the upcoming Workshop
and Festival.

Discovering
MY CHOICES
Discovering
MYSELF
|
The
Theme for the 2010 Workshop and Festival is
"Discovering
My Choices;
Discovering Myself"
based on Al-Anon's
recent book "Discovering Choices", For
adult children of alcoholics, making any choices (let alone good
choices) is a major challenge in life. Often issues of inadequacy,
perfectionism, fears of all sorts, depression and anxiety, and dread of commitment
leave us stuck at the decision points in
the journey through life. This weekend is designed to help adult children
discover our inner experiences, strengths, and hopes, and in so doing,
discover healthier choices for our present and our futures. |
